[](http://www.flickr.com/photos/laughingsquid/98552944/?ref=chrismessina.me)The title of this post might sound meaner than it really is, but I'm referring to the [departure](http://www.foolswisdom.com/~lloyd/wordpress/index.php/flock-has-one-less-fool/?ref=chrismessina.me#more-189) of [Lloyd "Foolswisdom" Budd](http://www.foolswisdom.com/~lloyd/?ref=chrismessina.me) from [Flock](http://flock.com/?ref=chrismessina.me). This is something I've known about for awhile (as well as Bart's departure before it was made public), but Lloyd's [post](http://www.foolswisdom.com/~lloyd/wordpress/index.php/flock-has-one-less-fool/?ref=chrismessina.me#more-189) does a pretty good job capturing what clearly was a tough decision with hundreds of photos from his stay at what some might call the yellow canary of Web 2.0\. Things for good for Lloyd and his [new](http://www.foolswisdom.com/~lloyd/wordpress/index.php/what-a-wonderful-wedding-ours/?ref=chrismessina.me) [bride](http://julessilver.wordpress.com/?ref=chrismessina.me), however, and I'm excited to find out [what's next](http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-hackers/2006-March/005385.html?ref=chrismessina.me) for them as they [resettle in Victoria, BC](http://julessilver.wordpress.com/2006/08/30/16028-kilometers-later-we-have-arrived-home/?ref=chrismessina.me). And yeah, I presume that he'll keep up with his [masterful photography work](http://www.flickr.com/photos/foolswisdom/?ref=chrismessina.me) and [foodporn shots](http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=foodporn&w=35468142546%40N01&ref=chrismessina.me).

\[...\] 1\. You think HP is just having problems now? Over the last 6 and a half years HP has layed off more than 53,000 people. Ouch. Welcome to Hewlett-Packing. 2\. Microsoft’s Lawyers remain busy (and no doubt well paid) 3\. Also in Microsoft news, admist all the lawyerly dealings Om Malik questions whether Redmond is facing a voluntary brain drain. But wait a minute - these are the business types we’re talking about here (with the exception of, maybe, Scoble). Had much brain can there then be to drain? 4\. Flock Flailing - Hot on the heals of us questioning why the CEO is leaving comes word that another member has left the fold. 5\. Segway recalls every Segway scooter every sold… which was less than 24,000\. Those kind of numbers even make the struggling US auto-makers laugh. So much for revolutionizing urban transport. 6\. Google hires a slimy DC lobbying firm infamous for its deceptive tactics. Do no evil, huh? I guess it’s only evil if other people do it. \[...\]
