From the [wiki:](http://barcamp.org/BarCampSouthAfrica?ref=chrismessina.me)

> Welcome to the initial planning phases of [BarCampSouthAfrica](http://barcamp.org/BarCampSouthAfrica?ref=chrismessina.me). The idea is to bring the South African tech/geek/creative community together under one roof in the informal "un-conference" environment as per the Bar Camp Ethos. Think of it as Open-Source conferencing, this is **YOUR** conference, you present, you discuss, you attend, you spread the word.

So we've hit the [US](http://barcamp.org/?ref=chrismessina.me), [Canada](http://barcamp.org/TorCamp?ref=chrismessina.me), [Europe](http://barcamp.org/BarCampAmsterdam?ref=chrismessina.me), [India](http://barcamp.org/BarCampIndia?ref=chrismessina.me), [Ireland](http://www.bdmwiki.com/index.php/Tech%5FCamp%5FIreland?ref=chrismessina.me)... and now [South Africa](http://barcamp.org/BarCampSouthAfrica?ref=chrismessina.me)?

Well, it's not a done deal yet, but if [Conrad Strydom](http://geekspin.wordpress.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) has his way, it's going to happen. [Adrian](http://drupal.org/user/1517?ref=chrismessina.me)? Now's your chance big guy!
