[](http://flickr.com/photos/vanderlin/149657715/?ref=chrismessina.me)For all you nay-sayers out there waiting for some reason to implement microformats, you [now have no excuse](http://kitchen.technorati.com/?ref=chrismessina.me). Not only can you [search for microformats](http://kitchen.technorati.com/search?ref=chrismessina.me) (like my [hcard](http://factoryjoe.com/blog/hcard?ref=chrismessina.me) \-- search for "[messina](http://kitchen.technorati.com/contact/search/messina?ref=chrismessina.me)") but you can also submit your content for indexing to the newly launched [Pingerati](http://pingerati.net/?ref=chrismessina.me) site. The search so far covers [hCard](http://microformats.org/wiki/hcard?ref=chrismessina.me), [hCalendar](http://microformats.org/wiki/hcalendar?ref=chrismessina.me) and [hReview](http://microformats.org/wiki/hreview?ref=chrismessina.me)... and I'm hoping to get more conversations kicked off around better interfaces for microformats as well as more [practical](http://microformats.pbwiki.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) ways of implementing and making use of microformats (like Jeremy Keith's [austin.adactio.com](http://austin.adactio.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) page). In any case, we finally have a use besides filling your address book for all those [conference speaker pages](http://tantek.com/microformats/2006/sxsw/interactive/speakers.html?ref=chrismessina.me) that [Tantek](http://tantek.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) has converted!

Yeah this is totally great. I had to blog about it as soon as I found out. We always had faith this day would come. Kudos to Tantek for taking the initiative when nobody else would.

I'm actually working on adding some micrformats into my blog. I've already got a hReview thing working, next up is hCard and hCalendar. I'm really glad that there seems to be universal support for microformats. It's uncommon to see a standard adopted by both the developers working in the trenches and the big companies like Microsoft agree on something. I hope that the new microformats search engine encourages developers to use them and participate in developing new microformats for content types they're working with.

\[...\] Kudos to Tantek and all the guys at Technorati that put this together. I agree with Chris. This really makes it hard to say no to adopting microformats in your XHTML. \[...\]
