[](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/115614730/?ref=chrismessina.me)[Calvin Yu](http://blog.codeeg.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) has ported his [Tails extension](http://blog.codeeg.com/tails-firefox-extension/?ref=chrismessina.me) to work in Flock as a topbar. The extension, called [Flocktails](http://blog.codeeg.com/flocktails-extension/?ref=chrismessina.me), reveals a micformats icon in the bottom right of the status bar to indicate the presence of [hCards](http://microformats.org/wiki/hcard?ref=chrismessina.me), [hCalendars](http://microformats.org/wiki/hcalendar?ref=chrismessina.me), [hReviews](http://microformats.org/wiki/hreview?ref=chrismessina.me) and [xFolk](http://microformats.org/wiki/xfolk?ref=chrismessina.me) entries. This is the extension that I [demoed at SXSW last week](http://factoryjoe.com/blog/2006/03/13/flock-microformats/?ref=chrismessina.me). Take it for a spin and send bug reports to Calvin!

Thlis looks promising. Not entirely unrelated, I recently wrote an article about the existing start pages (like My Yahoo!), why I think they don't have it right, and what start pages of tomorrow ought to look like. I think this could be related to where Flock is headed. I've also mocked up an image to explain my thinking. It's available here: http://dip.lodoc.us/articles/2006/03/18/web-desktop-the-next-big-internet-tool

Sweet! I've been using it since last night and I've decided that microformats are absolutley awesome. It didn't really catch on with me till this extension. I gues the 7 stages of Microformats are pretty consistant with what I'm going through at the moment :D http://blog.labnotes.org/2006/03/17/the-seven-phases-of-dealing-with-microformats/
