> [](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/241145286/?ref=chrismessina.me#comment72157594280440104)[I have noticed](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/241145286/?ref=chrismessina.me#comment72157594280440104) that more beta-y and more independent software developers are more likely to put newer services and features than larger developers though. Like [integrating audioscrobbler into an itunes controller](http://specere.net/menuet.php?ref=chrismessina.me), etc. These days the first thing i do is try to weigh how grassroots and forward-thinking a developer is when weighing a decision to download and try. Much like [Todos](http://www.dbachrach.com/opensoft/index.php?page=Todos&ref=chrismessina.me) was a few weeks ago.

well, i was eating a whole bag of microwave popcorn and typing with my less greasy finger. After reading this comment here, i noticed how fragmented my comment was. Oh, well.
