Carnegie Mellon has [sponsored](http://west.cmu.edu/alumni/events%5Fnews/news/2590951.html?ref=chrismessina.me) a system for rating open source projects in a standardized way: "After nearly six months of tweaking and collecting feedback from users, the Business Readiness Rating has been refined to the point where its evaluation categories are now final."
