[](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/126248089/?ref=chrismessina.me)Last week [Rashmi](http://www.rashmisinha.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) [announced](http://www.rashmisinha.com/archives/06%5F04/announcing-dcamp.html?ref=chrismessina.me) [D Camp](http://www.socialtext.net/dcamp/index.cgi?ref=chrismessina.me) \-- a Barcamp-styled ad hoc gathering of folks to be held at [Ross Mayfield](http://ross.typepad.com/blog/?ref=chrismessina.me)'s [SocialText HQ](http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=655+High+St,+palo+alto,+ca&ll=37.44299,-122.161403&spn=0.006329,0.014849&ref=chrismessina.me) in [Palo Alto May 12 and 13](http://upcoming.org/event/69247/?ref=chrismessina.me). The event is dedicated to discussing and presenting on design and development:

> D is for designers and D is for developers. We hope that this event will attract both designers, developers and anyone else who cares about the user experience. We hope that we will address issues of mutual concern together under the same roof and help build connections between the various communities that care about User Experience.

Scoble also [name-dropped](http://scobleizer.wordpress.com/2006/04/07/ross-announces-dcamp/?ref=chrismessina.me)... literally -- forgetting to mention Rashmi. Ah well -- missed a perfectly good opportunity to give props to, as [Tara](http://horsepigcow.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) put it, "the brilliant, young *woman* who is actually putting this together" (*emphasis* mine). Hop on the [mailing list](http://groups.google.com/group/dcamp/?ref=chrismessina.me) or [wiki](http://www.socialtext.net/dcamp/index.cgi?ref=chrismessina.me) if you want to pitch in. As usual, sign up on [Upcoming](http://upcoming.org/event/69247/?ref=chrismessina.me). And -- Rashmi's also look for [sponsors](http://www.socialtext.net/dcamp/index.cgi?sponsors%5Fwho%5Fwhat%5Fwhat%5Fwe%5Fneed&ref=chrismessina.me) and a [decent logo](http://www.socialtext.net/dcamp/index.cgi?logo%5Fcontest&ref=chrismessina.me) (mine's only a placeholder)!

She's also doing some great work at Bay-CHI putting together a speaker list that most groups envy.
