So, to kick off the New Year, I've accomplished two things only a [blogwankbuzz](http://flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/34378886/?ref=chrismessina.me) type hound could be proud of:

- Making it into the [Technorati Top 5000 blogs](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/81765457/?ref=chrismessina.me)
- and hitting [100,000 views of my Flickr stream](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/82555907/?ref=chrismessina.me)

No, you might not think it much, but considering where I was just a year ago (read: *sans blog until* [*February '05*](http://factoryjoe.com/blog/2005/02/12/chris-messina-meets-wordpress/?ref=chrismessina.me)*!*), these are some pretty incoyable milestones. So how about this? Yeah, at one time I kind of saw myself living the proverbial "[American Dream](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American%5FDream?ref=chrismessina.me)". Yeah yeah, hard work + courage + determination - sleep + caffeine = prosperity. Or some bollocks like that. But I'm not so sure that that's what this is anymore. It's not just American, that fer shur. And it's not just another *Two Dot Oh* thing, where we're meagerly incrementing the former version with a few shiny features. Nope, this is entirely different. How so, you ask? Well, borrowing from my buddy [Thomas Friedman](http://www.nytimes.com/ref/opinion/FRIEDMAN-BIO.html?ref=chrismessina.me), we have indeed entered the era of the [superempowered](http://discuss.pittsburghlive.com/viewtopic.php?p=287287&sid=f3eb7686cc485926742e347b6774fb4f&ref=chrismessina.me#287287) [individual](http://factoryjoe.com/blog/2005/03/13/harrison-bergeron-as-the-personification-of-the-internet-child/?ref=chrismessina.me). Am I an SEI? No. But I am *empowered*. Do I *want* to become one? Yes. So I will. Judging by quantitative achievements this past year, It's only a matter of time.

"Noteworthy" means that it's a good blog and I already read it, but it doesn't count for the little project because I already read your blog; new blogs only.
