[](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/240672881/?ref=chrismessina.me)[Pzizz](http://www.pzizz.com/?ref=chrismessina.me), a highly rated [nap/sleep aid](http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/pzizz%5Fpersonal%5Flife%5Fcoaching%5Fsystem?ref=chrismessina.me) that works by generating unique binaural soundtracks for better snoozing, is [on sale today for $24.95](http://www.macupdate.com/promo/?ref=chrismessina.me) at MacUpdate (38% off). Normally I wouldn't throw something like this out there, but I happen to [know](http://www.flickr.com/photos/blake4tx/219192202/in/photostream/?ref=chrismessina.me) [Edward](http://www.pzizz.com/brainwave.asp?ref=chrismessina.me), the guy behind Pzizz, and have been chatting with him ever since he [showed up on my blog](http://factoryjoe.com/blog/2006/07/25/neat-mac-apps-that-help-you-concentrate/?ref=chrismessina.me#comment-13559) (thanks [Digg](http://digg.com/apple/Neat%5FMac%5Fapps%5Fthat%5Fhelp%5Fyou%5Fconcentrate?ref=chrismessina.me)!), and know that he's a great guy. Personally, I've found Pzizz really handy not just for how it helps me fall asleep (which it does) but for both the quality of rest that I get and the way in which it wakes me up; unlike an alarm that *zaps* you into consciousness, Pzizz is designed to *gradually* bring you out of sleep in waves, slowing reviving you and helping you feel refreshed. [LifeHacker](http://www.lifehacker.com/?ref=chrismessina.me) and [43Folders have been](http://www.43folders.com/2006/09/07/ultradians/?ref=chrismessina.me) [all](http://www.lifehacker.com/software/stress-reduction/relax-with-pzizz-172959.php?ref=chrismessina.me) [over](http://www.lifehacker.com/software/stress/getting-to-done-destress-yourself-part-2-relax-175220.php?ref=chrismessina.me) [Pzizz](http://www.lifehacker.com/software/stress-reduction/free-pzizz-sleep-module-for-lifehackers-174861.php?ref=chrismessina.me), so if you've had any doubt (or if you have an iPod!), you should definitely consider this a great [opportunity](http://www.macupdate.com/promo/?ref=chrismessina.me) for grabbing some Pzizz's.

It certainly works for me. Someone , who had been sceptical, recommended it at Reboot and I now use it on long flights to get me off to sleep.

I tried Pzizz out when you mentioned this before, Chris, and I've been addicted to it ever since. I doubt I'd be able to pull of a mid-day nap without it. Bravo.

The team at MacZOT use Pzizz regularly. Here's one great use to add to the tips here so far: 1\. If you've had too much coffee or red bull and your brain is moving too fast to sleep, use the Pzizz sleep module and it'll help you take the focus off your ideas, business, and life while allowing you to get to sleep quickly even when you've OD'd on caffeine. ZOT!

If you're comfortable with the command line, sbagen for Mac OS X is a great little open source tool with lots of funky binaural presets from alpha, theta, delta, any others. It also lets you mix your own tunes in. Chris, did you know that's what I was listening too when I was at your place the other day? Cool to find out about Pzizz!
