# TorCamp kicks off; Bar Camp NYC seeks a venue!

Bar Camp Toronto, has gotten underway at [460 Richmond St. W.](http://maps.google.com/maps?q=460+Richmond+Street+W.+Toronto,+ON&iwloc=A&hl=en&ref=chrismessina.me) in Toronto, with a good 30 or so participants showing up thus far! They've got a [Flickr pool](http://flickr.com/groups/72499736@N00/pool/?ref=chrismessina.me) up and the tag is [TorCamp](http://technorati.com/tag/TorCamp?ref=chrismessina.me). Can't wait to hear how the event unfolds. Great work David! [](http://barcamp.org/index.cgi?BarCampNYC&ref=chrismessina.me)Meanwhile, turns out that my good buddy [Amit](http://amitgupta.com/?ref=chrismessina.me), who's spearheading the [Bar Camp NYC](http://barcamp.org/index.cgi?BarCampNYC&ref=chrismessina.me) effort, is in need of a venue! He's been huntin' and searchin' ever since he got back from his visit to India, but now needs some help from the community at large. Here's what he's looking for: On the island of Manhattan: we're looking for an office space with wifi and 4-5 rooms, one or two larger than the rest, walls available for projectors, etc., that we can occupy for a weekend. If you've got a place in mind or can at all help with emailin' or callin' potential candidate venues, drop Amit a note via [barcamp@gmail.com](mailto:barcamp@gmail.com). He was hoping to do this in very early December, so while this' short notice, surely someone's got a bit of room that they wouldn't mind donating for use for some very eager Bar Campers!
