[](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/193774893/?ref=chrismessina.me)In case you didn't notice (yeah, I'll admit that there might actually be people in the world who didn't flinch), [Flickr went down for a considerable amount of time today](http://blog.flickr.com/flickrblog/2006/07/temporary%5Fstora.html?ref=chrismessina.me) (something about moving 20TB of photos). Well, Flickr's back up again (thank G\*d, I was starting to fade holding my breath so long). And I gotta tell ya, the genius of Flickr is that, during their downtime, [they put out a colouring contest](http://www.truebluetitan.com/pi/?p=62&ref=chrismessina.me). A friggin' [colouring contest](http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/flickrcolourcontest/?ref=chrismessina.me). I mean, some people shy away behind geekery and tomfoolery to explain away the inevitable. Flickr? Nawh. It's like a snow day where the busses never come -- *stay home fools! A make snow angels!* So I made [two](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/193774893/?ref=chrismessina.me) [entries](http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/193774827/?ref=chrismessina.me). Oh, and I think I also [found housing for this weekend](http://factoryjoe.com/blog/2006/07/19/557/?ref=chrismessina.me), so thanks! But Boston, well, I'm still looking!

Harsh! But true! AND some people didn't get hit by the down time-I couldn't believe it either! I put a link back to your Blog-let me know if that's not okay-and I will remove the link. The Group: [ Flickr Colour (AKA color) Contest](http://flickr.com/groups/flickrcolorcontest/?ref=chrismessina.me)

\[...\] When Flickr goes down, God kills a kitten at FactoryCity the genius of Flickr is that, during their downtime, they put out a colouring contest. A friggin’ colouring contest. I mean, some people shy away behind geekery and tomfoolery to explain away the inevitable.
