For panoramas, there's nothing better than DoubleTake (now at v2.0). And for notes, it's all about Journler (also at v2.0) (props to Greg Elin for the hookup).

How does DoubleTake compare with Calico? The last time I tried it, DoubleTake got confused by a shifting column of smoke in my panorama. Calico will handle anything that is landscape oriented. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/29100

Well, it's much cheaper and I think the interface *much* better. Besides that, I guess it's personal preference...? And, I mean, you can reorg the photos yourself, which to me seems like much more control than Calico.
