I've seen a few new "lists" pop up lately and I'm just like... "why?" I mean, most of the top 20 repeat the same dudes (and yes, I mean that in the masculine, not neuter, form -- counting only 7 of cumulative 60 coming the female side of the aisle). Anyway, without further ado, here it is, my Top 10 "Next Blog" from Blogger "un"-list, in the exact order that I clicked!

So there you have it. The everyman "un"-list of blogs as I came across them by clicking the "Next Blog" button on my defunct Blogger blog. Representing a multitude of views, tastes and hell, even languages and spam. Congratulations all!

So, that is sort of the joke: a 'best of' list anyone can add their name to. It's an online koan: the best blogs are the ones you bring with you to the list.

Oh I know. The 43 Best Blogs is pretty good, I gotta admit. It's just that the trend made me feel like I would be missing out if I didn't come up with my own, which I did! ;)

I wasn't really following any trends. I know there's a lot of listings of best blogs, but there's no list (that I know of, anyway) that lists the best bloggers in the world. Now, despite what is claimed on the site, I'm not the ultimate authority on who the best bloggers in the world are -- not by any stretch of the imagination -- but I do enjoy doing the list. Ultimately, that's the main reason I did it; because I'm a sucker for lists, and I'm a sucker for bloggers.

Oh I know. I'm not really bustin' your chops or anything. It was just amusing to see more lists -- I appreciate that you do it for the "love of it" rather than to inflate anyone's egos. Personal lists are much more interesting -- especially when they show indie flair and taste, rather than just an echolalic acceptance of who everyone thinks is "it" in the blogodrome.

I know what you mean. I've gotten a lot of flack for putting Peter Rojas at the top of the list, but really, does he deserve to be anywhere else (at least right now)? I'm not sure he does. I've really enjoyed publishing the blog thus far, though, and even if interest were to completely decline, I'd still keep doing it, if only for myself.
